Casis Outdoor Classroom Created by Community

Burton Baldridge of Baldridge Architects headed a project at Casis Elementary to design and build an open-air classroom with seating for forty students, storage for tools and classroom supplies, and rainwater collection. Eastside Lumber & Decking signed on as one of the first sponsors of the project and provided all the lumber. The project was covered by the New York Times and the Texas Tribune.

Here is a link to how Baldridge Architects described the project plus more photos. It is a stunning project that engages students with what is possible, completed in August, 2012.
