A materials sponsor of Austin Habitat for Humanity, Eastside Lumber & Decking provides framing materials by the truckload at cost for all Austin home builds, delivering directly to the construction hub where the volunteers assemble walls. Habitat for Humanity of Austin builds about 24 affordable houses per year.
Why Habitat?
Owning a home is not possible for many of our neighbors. More than 25% of the city’s workforce earns less than $13.50 per hour and working households spend more than half their income on housing costs. This causes significant strain on a family trying to make ends meet.
As poverty increases, housing costs soar. In Austin, the median single-family home costs $240,000 and the average monthly rent for a 2-bedroom apartment is $1,160 per month. Austin Habitat for Humanity believes everyone deserves a decent, affordable place to live and we make it possible.
